Getting married was so much fun, we decided to do it twice! Well, kinda. We needed to legalize our Lahori wedding in Canada before our departure to Paraguay so June 29th was our ‘Potluck picnic meets wedding’ celebration at Crescent Beach. Although not nearly as intimate/romantic as our ‘first’ wedding, this one also held a certain charm and together they created a kinda perfect wedding package. We were able to celebrate with friends and family and we were able to take some wedding photos in the daylight (yeah!). The weather blessed us with brilliantly blue skies (despite the early morning rain and my early morning fretting) and it does something good for the soul to be surrounded by bright colours, salty sea wind and so much god-damn love.
Our second wedding was fate-filled. I wasn’t going to buy a dress but when I walked into H&M, searching for a bathing suit, and saw what can only be described as a beach wedding dress for $15.00, 1 left…my size…I decided it was necessary to purchase it.
The morning of our wedding I felt compelled to walk Blackie Spit in search of wild flowers for my bouquet. Along the way I passed a circle of engraved stones set in high yellow grass for probably the 5th time that summer. But, I noticed it for the first time and knew it was the last bit of magic needed for our second wedding.
Finally, at the appointed wedding start time, the clouds cleared and the sun decided to grace us with her warmth and light. Though this little bit of luck left us all quite sunburnt.
Lucky for us, this wedding had brilliant lighting, a photogenic setting and 2 amazing and talented photographers to capture the moments. Thank you Reg and Jacquie for the visions below!
